• Gear Restrictor.  A gear can be selected in either first, or second gear with the gear leverl.  The gear lever is then removed leaving the Meerkat in low or high automatic, according to the child's maturity.  When the child is properly skilled, a gear lever can be left on the Meerkat, giving the Meerkat a four speed semi-automatic gearbox, teaching the child gear changing skills.

• When the engine is switched off, the back wheels automatically lock up, like a hand brake

• An extra large brake is fitted for additional safety (Photo C)

• The Meerkat can be bump started by lifting up the back a few inches and dropping it as you walk along side or behind it if battery is dead
